Never Gonna Make It is five guys with an affinity for the pop-punk genre and writing melodic songs about everyday drama. Founded in 2015 by UMass Lowell students Chris Kelly (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Grant Simpson (bass guitar, backup vocals), the band is rounded out by friends and emo enthusiasts Ben Deudon (lead guitar, backup vocals), Steve Goulet (drums), and Tim Nastar (lead vocals). The band’s lyrical approach to emotional hard core is front and center on first release, Don’t Quit Your Day Job, recorded at Burlington’s Kennedy Studios in 2019, followed by the EP, Leusic (2020), and most recently, The Party’s Over, released in January 2023. As lifelong New Englanders from Boston’s North and South Shores, the band was honored to be nominated in 2023 for a New England Music Award for Best New Act of the Year and Best Punk Act of the Year. And love vibing off the energy of a dedicated fan base, who follow the band and make every gig a high-energy party.
